From 2009 to 2018, “Wellcome Trust” has invested in medical research, as well as in the humanities and social sciences, at universities around the world. In total, 172 universities from 55 countries have benefited from an investment of approximately £ 6.23 billion. Universities in Africa account for about half of all financial investments, most of which are in science and research. The second and third places are taken by European and Australian universities.
