The opening ceremony of IV International Scientific   Conference   of  Economics  And Management Researchers organized by UNEC, took place on June 23.

Before the opening, the conference participants visited the tomb of great leader Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honors, laid a wreath and paid tribute to his memory.

The conference, held at   Baku Marriott Hotel Boulevard, was attended by Deputy Minister of Education Firudin Gurbanov,  the rector of UNEC, Professor Adalat Muradov, MPs,  representatives of public and private organizations, scientists and researchers.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, the rector Professor Adalat Muradov greeted the participants and wished success to the conference. The rector shared with the participants the new success of UNEC achieved two days ago. The rector drew attention to the fact that UNEC has risen to 251-300 in the 2022 ranking of world universities, ranked 18th among Asian universities, and ranked 151-200 in the world on Economics, according to U-Multirank rating organization, and noted that he is proud of it.

The rector said the growing interest in the annual conference, which brings together researchers from around the world on one platform, is gratifying. It was noted that 270 out of 613 research papers submitted from 27 countries were accepted for report at the conference. Within the conference, 3 books on the economic potential of the liberated regions, “Business environment and development of small and medium business in Karabakh”, “The role of investments in the economic development of   Karabakh and East Zangazur” and “Assessment of the economic potential of Karabakh and East Zangazur” have been published.

Speaking at the conference, the Deputy Minister of Education Firudin Gurbanov spoke about the state programs adopted for the economic development of the country, further improvement of social welfare, development of science and education. Touching upon the challenges facing the world economy and science, the Deputy Minister stressed the importance of alternative energy resources and the development of a green economy, noting that higher education institutions have a great responsibility in this direction. He expressed confidence that the articles submitted to the conference and the topics discussed at the conference will contribute to the future development of our country and the world.

Elman Eminov, Chief Economist of Pasha Holding Group of Companies, spoke about the changes in the labor market and the role of higher education institutions in this direction. Noting that there is an outflow in the labor market of Azerbaijan, the holding official said that the role of higher education institutions in this area, as well as the social responsibility of business structures, has increased. He noted the successful cooperation between Pasha Holding and UNEC, noting that this cooperation will continue to grow.

The conference continued with panel presentations by local and foreign experts on Education, Science, Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

After the speeches, plaques of thanks were presented to the main participants of the conference.

In the second part of the conference, panel discussions on “Round economy and financing of green growth” were held.

Within the framework of the conference, an exhibition of handicrafts by UNEC students entitled “Karabakh is Azerbaijan”, as well as a live sculpture of students’ aroused great interest among the participants.

The conference, which will last until June 26, will feature 12 workshops with the participation of about 50 experts from around the world, as well as experts from public, private and higher education institutions. There will be interesting discussions on  university-industry collaboration, agile approach to business management, metaverse  and education, student entrepreneurship, digital skills in higher education, energy and sustainable economic development, socioeconomic effects of the pandemic, innovation ecosystems and universities, artificial intelligence and economic impacts, behavioral economics, health management and digital economy at “workshops”.
