Meeting with the Students of the ICGDS of UNEC
Head of the International Center for Graduate and Doctoral Studies of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) Assistant Professor Fariz Ahmadov has met with the students of the center.
Students were delivered the information about the new standards approved by the Minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov targeted in establishing education system possessing infrastructure based on the leading technologies and occupying advanced position and the curricula developed within these standards. Informing the graduates about the positive sides of the new standards, F.Ahmadov spoke about the quality education, self- development and academic experience opportunities to be gained by the system. The Center Director said that the proposal of preparation of graduate standards in “Economics and Administration” was made by the UNEC administration; the standards are being taught at UNEC ICGDS for the first time and the classes on up-to- date subjects are conducted.
Information on dual diploma and exchange programs realized with some prestigious universities of Turkey and Europe was also delivered within the meeting. Noting the chance of acquiring a double diploma either continuing education abroad or conducting one- semester research, the Head of the Center talked about the advantages of it.
Students’ questions and proposals were heard and the necessary measures were promised to be done at the end.
Note: The decision on establishing the “International Center for Graduate and Doctoral Studies” was made by UNEC Academic Council within the session held on June 29 2015. Training in 5 majors (Business Administration, Tourism and Hotel Keeping, International Relations and Diplomacy, Financial Management, World Economy) is made in 4 languages (Azerbaijani, Turkish, Russian and English). About 10 international students are studying and 2 foreign teachers conduct classes in the Center. Trainings are conducted by the staff got their graduate and doctoral education abroad and the prestigious people of the business world.
