UNEC has hosted an information session of Non-Aligned Movement Youth Network
Speaking at the event, the head of the International Security Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yalchin Rafiyev informed the students about the Non-Aligned Movement. He noted that Azerbaijan joined the Non-Aligned Movement in 2011 in order to contribute to the strengthening of peace, security, international law and justice. He drew attention to the fact that in a short period of time, our country had gained great trust and respect among the members of the Non-Aligned Movement, and Azerbaijan was elected as a chair of the Non-Aligned Movement for 2019-2022.
Then the head of the Non-Aligned Movement Youth Network Secretariat Jeyran Jafarova and the chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement Youth Network Ordukhan Gahramanzadeh spoke about the purpose and activities of the Movement’s Youth Network. They said that the main goal was to achieve sustainable development of young people from the Non-Aligned Movement, to create conditions for the exchange of views on the joint and adequate efforts of their countries to overcome the problems they face. Speakers also shared information about future projects with students and called on young people to be active in this direction.
The Vice-Rector of UNEC, Associate Professor, Shaig Asgarov spoke about the Non-Aligned Movement’s support for our country in the 44-day Patriotic War. In order to increase the activity of students in the Youth Network of the Movement, the Vice-Rector proposed to establish a representative office of the Network at UNEC.
A video dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Non-Aligned Movement was shown at the event.
