On November 19 the 23^rd Anniversary of the establishment of New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) was held at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC).

Making a speech the Chairman of the Women’s Council of Sabail district organization and UNEC Women’s Council Tarana Kerimova congratulated the participants on the occasion of the celebration and stressed the role of the New Azerbaijan Party which celebrates its 23^rd birthday is decisive in the formation of national statehood traditions. T. Kerimova said Azerbaijan has become the country with its word and place in the world where the National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s ideas have been forming broader and a strong foundation and guarantee of the future of our people is being established. She noted that the political course of the New Azerbaijan Party led y the President Ilham Aliyev has no alternative. Becoming a key supporter of the development of modern Azerbaijan paved the way for the establishment of strengthening the people’s hope for future. Currently about 700 thousand members are being joined in the party.

Head of the Department Economy and Management of Social Sphere, Professor Ali Alirzayev spoke about the history of the establishment of NAP. During the challenging period for Azerbaijan he also was among the 91 intellectuals who appealed to the National Leader thinking of the county’s future; further the establishment conference of the New Azerbaijan Party was held in Nakhchivan with the participation of 550 representatives, he said. A.Alirzayev highlighted the negligent performance of those who governed the country in early 1990 which tired out the people’s patience and the National Leader Heydar Aliyev came to power with the insistence of the population in 1993 which became an important historic event in Azerbaijan’s history.

Head of the Department International Trade and Customs, Professor Arif Shakaraliyev spoke about the role of New Azerbaijan Party in the modern political history of the country. He stressed Azerbaijan has become the country which occupies significant place for its economic strength among the countries of the world and became the developing country in the European scale as a result of the right economic and social policy realized by the President Ilham Aliyev.

The academic staff participating in the event spoke about the honorary way through which NAP has passed within 23 years and achieved success.
