Training for UNEC Deans
Training Program “Organization of Teaching” for the Deans of the Higher Educational Institutions has started at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) on July 9.
UNEC Rector, Dr Adalat Muradov noted that the management philosophy of the University is based on the leadership of Deans. The goal of the training is to build a model of the Dean’s office of university teaching, to strengthen capacity building which serves to improve the quality of education and pave the way for the successful implementation of tasks. The training program will have a positive impact on raising Dean’s level of competency, formation of healthy competition. The opportunity to discuss the problems together encountered in the process of work.
Proposals to overcome the problems generating points will be sent to the Ministry of Education.
The Deputy Head of the office of the Ministry of Education Yagub Piriyev said that the training is positively appreciated by the Minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov. Reforms in the field of education are being conducted in accordance with the “State Strategy on the Development of Education in the Republic of Education” and the “Actions Plan” prepared on its base. All higher education institutions were assigned financial autonomy. And we are working in the direction of the academic autonomy. Universities should be ready to benefit from this opportunity. In this regard, the “Organization of Teaching” trainings for the Dean of higher institutions are of great importance.
Head of the office noted the other universities’ Deans to be involved to the kind of training to result positively in future.
Then Y. Piriyev made a presentation on organization of teaching with the credit system in undergraduate and graduate levels of higher education institutions.
Views on Bologna process and the formation of the European education system, legislation and regulatory documents on the organization of the education with a credit system will be exchanged. At the same time, discussions on the organization and improvement of the teaching in the Schools, training process, methodological security, transfer, removal and restoration of the students studying in the undergraduate and graduate levels of the higher educational institutions, taking academic leave and university discipline rules are to be made.
UNEC Deans and Heads of the Centers are participating in the training. Training will last 5 days and the participants will be awarded certificates in the end.
