Science festival dedicated to “Heydar Aliyev Year” is kicked off at UNEC
On March 1, the science festival dedicated to the “Year of Heydar Aliyev” has been kicked off at UNEC. The science festival will continue until March 27 – Science Day.
At the opening of the science festival, a scientific-practical conference was held on “Scientific activity in modern universities: new challenges, opportunities, and ways to solve complex tasks”.
At the conference, UNEC Vice-Rector for Science, Professor Sakit Yagubov pointed out that the main goal of the Science Festival is to popularize science. He said that a conference, round tables, scientific-practical seminars, open scientific-popular lectures, debates, a book exhibition, and more than 20 events on various topics will be held within the framework of the Science Festival.
Director of the Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry named after academician M. Nagiyev, academician Dilgam Tagiyev, who participated in the event, spoke about the role of the great leader Heydar Aliyev in the development of Azerbaijani science. The academician said that the great leader always paid attention and care to Azerbaijani scientist and science. Consistent and systematic measures are implemented in this field under his leadership.
MP Etibar Aliyev, a member of the Science and Education Committee of the Milli Majlis, spoke about the importance of popularizing science, especially increasing attention to this field in the regions. The deputy pointed out that the value given to science has changed and stressed that scientists should also change their paradigms.
Honorary adviser to UNEC rector Farrukh Tuzcuoğlu spoke about the internationalization of the higher education system and shared the experience of UNEC and Sakarya University in this direction.
The moderator of the event, the director of the department of organization and management of the scientific activity, professor Zahid Mammadov made a presentation about the new management model in the scientific activity of UNEC. He informed about the application of the results of scientific research works in the educational process, the transition to a research university, strategic goals, analytical analysis of UNEC’s indicators on prestigious scientific publishing platforms, as well as upcoming tasks.
The conference continued its work with panel discussions.
Books about the great leader Heydar Aliyev and the victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev were displayed at the book exhibition organized by the UNEC Library Information Center within the framework of the science festival.
