The rector Professor Adalat Muradov said that for the first time in the region, the “Non-academic transcript” project reflecting the soft skills of students has been prepared at UNEC. Pointing out that the methodological discussions of the project were conducted with well-known educational experts in the country, the rector emphasized the importance of conducting discussions with employers in order to improve the transcript. A.Muradov said that the criteria required by the business world are taken into account in the non-academic transcript: “I think that in the business world, the non-academic transcript will be preferred over the academic transcript. In a fast-changing world, it’s more important to focus on skills that don’t change.”
Professor Adalat Muradov said that the assessment of soft skills will be carried out among the 4th year students based on the principle of volunteering. He said that the “Career planning and business development” department was established at UNEC and the teachers of the department teach the subjects “Career Planning”, “Soft Skills” and “Hard Skills”.
Then Asaf Zeynalov, a teacher of the “Career planning and business development” department, made a report on the essence of the non-academic transcript and evaluation criteria.
After the questions were answered by the speaker, representatives of the business world spoke about the importance of the project. They noted that the formation of soft skills in students, as well as the transcript reflecting these skills, will play an important role in the employment of graduates. They pointed out that they are interested in cooperating with UNEC in this direction.
It was noted that the project will be an important step towards establishing and further expanding the mutual cooperation of the business world and universities.
