The results of the “Flipped education” method applied since the new academic year at UNEC have been discussed.

The rector of UNEC rector Professor Adalat Muradov, heads of relevant structures, and lecturers took part in the event.

Rector Adalat Muradov said that efforts are being made to implement the modern university model at UNEC: “One of the main goals of the university is to inculcate practical skills in students and to develop 21st-century skills that world universities are working on. The world is changing very fast, theoretical knowledge is rapidly being deformed. For this reason, world universities focus on teaching skills that remain unchanged. In September, the “Flipped education” approach based on the most modern methodologies has been implemented in UNEC as well. The main feature of the method applied in the world’s leading universities is the transfer of knowledge during classes in audio, video, infographic, and written form, which students can understand more easily. The rector expressed confidence that the new method applied as a pilot will be successful.

Then, the vice-rector for digitization, associate professor Ragif Gasimov, gave a report on the results of the “Flipped education” method. The report stated that as a result of the application of the new method, the students have developed the ability to learn educational materials freely, their mastery and quality indicators have increased, and their individual learning trajectory, group work, and communication skills among themselves have developed.

The vice-rector also said that a survey was conducted among students regarding the organization of education. In the subject survey, students highly appreciated the application of the new teaching method.

The organization of teaching was monitored in the groups where the “flipped education” method was applied, and the results were analyzed. It has been determined that the new method has a positive effect on the motivation of teachers and students, and that high indicators have been achieved in the assimilation of educational materials presented to students in the video, audio, infographic, and written form. The report also revealed the mastery and quality percentages for the subjects. R. Gasimov pointed out that the “Flipped education” method will be applied in 5 groups of each faculty from the spring semester.
