Memorandum was signed between UNEC and “Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation” OJSC
Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in education, knowledge and training was signed between Azerbaijani State University of Economics (UNEC) and “Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation”.
Rector of UNEC, Professor Adalat Muradov, the general director of “Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation” OJSC Kamran Nabizade,the academic-staff of the university and representatives of the corporation took part in the signing ceremony.
Rector Adalat Muradov said that in “State Strategy for the Development of Education in the Republic of Azerbaijan”, education that is purely theoretically characterized, which is not enriched with practical knowledge and skills by scientific-technological progress, innovation and modernization, is losing its fundamental importance. In this regard, the importance of practical knowledge and skills, as well as academic knowledge is highlighted in the formation of education content. This requires the educational process to be adapted to the needs of the real economy. The rector talked about the UNEC innovations in this direction and spoke about the importance of the UNEC2B and the job.unec.edu.az virtual labor market, which is a platform for strategic cooperation with the university. Noting that the university is cooperating with many influential companies and holdings, A.Muradov also pointed out the important points of cooperation with “AIC” OJSC. He noted that within the framework of the cooperation UNEC graduates will be included in the expert base of the Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation and individual scholarships will be established for 3 UNEC students. At the same time, training courses for the employees of “AİC” OJSC will be held at UNEC.
General Director of the corporation Kamran Nabizade who spoke about the history and current activities of the “Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation” OJSC noted that one of the main goals of “AIC” OJSC is proper organization of business in enterprises, increase profitability, expand production and strengthen cooperation among enterprises. Qualified and professional staffs play a major role in achieving these goals. The general director of the corporation also said that the success of the Memorandum depends on the bilateral active implementation of this agreement.
At the end the rector Adalat Muradov and the chairman of the “AIC” OJSC signed a memorandum of cooperation.
According to the document, UNEC students will be trained in “AIC” OJSC and its affiliated enterprises, students’ business ideas, innovation initiatives, startup activities and their practical application will be supported. Joint research will be conducted to develop the non-oil sector in the country, grant projects of international organizations and funds will be jointly participated, programs will be implemented. At the same time, specialists of AIC OJSC will be involved in the supervision of bachelor and master dissertation works of the students, as a lecturer on various topics. The Memorandum envisages organization of “round tables”, conferences, seminars, organization of “summer schools”, the use of UNEC’s scientific-research and educational-methodological structure by “AIC” OJSC and its affiliated enterprises, conducting competitions among students, awarding of winners and cooperation in other areas.
