The incredible opportunity at UNEC for getting over 600 points
The last meeting of the Scientific Council for the 2017/2018 academic year was held at UNEC.
In the meeting, the report of the Director of Zagatala branch of UNEC, the professor Orujali Rzayev was listened. In the report was noted that, the number of specialties and the admission plan to the corresponding faculties had been increased and the tuition fees had been reduced in Zagatala branch in the new academic year.
Then, the Deputy Director of the UNEC Derbend branch Tarana Abasova made the report. The members of the council were informed that, the training at the Derbend branch, which met the modern requirements and provided with high material and technical base, the training was conducted on the basis of the program of the Russian Economic University named after G.V. Plekhanov. It was noted that, the students getting education in the Derbend branch could participate in the dual diploma program implemented between UNEC and Montpellier University. At the same time, two students getting education in the intramural form of study and receiving the highest grade points at the exam session at the Derbend branch will have the opportunity to continue their education at the Russian Economics School of UNEC within one semester.
The rector of UNEC, professor Adalat Muradov noted that, the innovations had been made in the rules regarding the Internal University Dual Diploma Program. He noted that, according to the new rules, the applicants enrolled in UNEC in 2018/2019 academic year by getting 700 points in the admission exams would join the program for free. The first year students, getting more than 600 points would recieve 50 % discount in the tuition fee on the Internal University Dual Diploma Program.
Speaking about the changes had been made in the Law “On Education”, A.Muradov said that the winners of the International Olympiads would be accepted to any specialty of the higher eduactional institutions non-competitively, and the winners of the Republican Subject Olympiads would be admitted non-competitively, as well to the higher educational institutions, on the specialties corresponding to the subject olympiad they had won. The rector underscored that, the winners of Olympiads along with the applicants choosing UNEC by getting 600 and more points at the admission exams would be able to receive the special scholarship.
A.Muradov noted that, the Nobel Prize laureate Aziz Sancar Award had been established at UNEC for the best researcher and the rules for awarding had been prepared, as well. He said that, the live connection would be established with Nobel Prize laureate Aziz Sancar to congratulate the winner at the solemn presentation ceremony of the the “Aziz Sancar Award” the amount of which was 10 thousand manats.
The Council decided to establish the UNEC Insurance School at the initiative of the Azerbaijani Insurers Association.
Another innovation was the announcement of research grants from UNEC budget. It was noted that, the rules for presenting grants would be developed and it would be applied to 17 research centers operating within UNEC.
The Council continued with the discussion of current issues. The chair “Marketing” was abolished and merged with the “Business management” chair. The name of the sports club “Economist” was changed and renamed to “UNEC” sports club.
